Thanks to everybody who attended our meeting last night. So good to see everyone after a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Here are our updates for this week.
Breakfast Burrito and Climate Rally End of Semester:
December 12th at 12pm will be our last social for 2015! We are planning on having a breakfast burrito pot luck brunch and then walking to the capitol around 3pm for the climate rally! Stay tuned for more information and to sign up to bring a food item.
REthink Post Holiday Item Swap:
Did you get unnecessary articles from the holiday season or didn’t get what you were quite looking for? REthink has a solution! The Post Holiday Swap will be a free event where everyone is welcome to trade goods with NO money involved. Trade that scarf you never wore for a T-shirt you adore. Got fooled with that white elephant gift that is just silly? Well no more! The emphasis of the event will be on articles that can be used on a daily/ weekly basis, but you can be creative as well! Homemade goods strongly recommended 🙂
Bottle Free Badgers with State Representative Andy Jorgensen:
Come support your fellow Bottle Free Badgers and talk about the future of a bottle free campus! The event will be from 6-7pm in Memorial Union. Event details here.
Winter/ Spring Student Organization Fair:
The spring semester student org fair will be happening again this year. Keep up with checking your email over winter break (we know it’s break, but bear with us) so you can get our sign up to attend! We will really need volunteers for this!
In other news:
We are shedding little tears from our environmentalist eyes because as of current, the green fund, a fund provided to help launch and support sustainable projects through ASM, has been reduced to $0.00 for the 2016-2017 university budget. However, due to many constraints put in place for the use of segregated fees, ASM is working to create funds through a different avenue to fund such projects. Read more about this news here.
Sustainability Council Seeks Chair and Vice Chair:
The Sustainability Council is looking for a new leader for the next year (2016-17). Are you interested in holding a council together that every sustainability org on campus is involved in? A friendly, organized, and leadership driven individual is sought to fulfill this position for the upcoming year. Please email us back if you would like more information on the position.
We hope to see you all this Saturday for our final social of this semester. Even if you can only take a study break for a short about of time to come by and say hello, please come!
Have a wonderfully green week!
