REthink Updates

First and foremost, thanks to all you REThinkers who came to our meeting on Wednesday and helped us pick up trash on Langdon after our campaign updates! Even getting out there for just a half hour really made difference on the street and we got about 10 bags of garbage and recycling so your help is GREATLY appreciated.

Our meeting this Week (Wednesday September 30th) we will be meeting at the back of the Education Building on the terrace (meet at 6pm) and walking down the lake shore path to Fire Circle 2 for our first potluck of the year. Make sure you sign up to bring something!

Volunteer opportunities:

Sign up to work the football game against Iowa on October 3rd! You get a free t-shirt, free food voucher, and entry to the game! Go badgers!

Dumpster Diving Rejump start: Dumpster Diving, the art of removing valuables from the trash stream is becoming main stream. Interested in learning more and getting your hands dirty, more like filling bags with groceries? Send Aaron a personal email at: aconradt@wisc.edu and we will make some arrangements

Fun sustainability event: ERBN is hosting an event with cool choices. Next Tuesday, September 29th, at 7pm in Grainger room 1175. Cool choices is a game that encourages sustainable life decisions with incentives. Come learn how to play the game and get encouraged to reduce your carbon footprint and help the city. The city of Madison is currently entered in a city wide energy reduction competition with 15 other cities across the country. The winner receives a 5 million dollars to go toward green infrastructure, so this is a very exciting opportunity.

As always, if you guys want to pursue a leadership position in REthink and have any ideas for new campaigns that you would like to run, let us know! We LOVE new ideas and participation! Come to our potluck/meeting Wednesday at 6pm!
