Pick Up America – Documentary Released

Pick Up America is a local, regional, and nationwide initiative committed to reducing plastic waste in our communities and waterways. The Pick Up Artists will coordinate community trash clean-ups while walking across the country to encourage alternatives to our nation’s throwaway mentality.

Last semester one of the Pick Up Artists, Davey Rogner, made a visit to Madison. While here he spent a lot of time with REthink members and reaching out to students on campus to discuss and think about sustainable waste management practices, and waste issues that we have in our country right now.

A documentary has just been released about the Pick Up America initiative:

Check out the video: “Last October, student filmmakers Michael Burke and Marie Wicht spent several days on the road with us as we walked through Southern Ohio. They produced a documentary film about Pick Up America. We hope you enjoy watching it. It’s a pretty good representation of what it was like in 2010. We’re now in the thralls of fundraising for 2011. So, if you’re inspired to donate after you watch the film, please do. Any little bit helps us reach our $55,000 goal to get 9 fulltime volunteers from Ohio to Colorado. See below for some more details.” -http://pickupamerica.wordpress.com/

Thank you Pick Up America for all have you done.
